A celebration and reflection of a Bridgeport legend

It's a rare occasion to celebrate a 40-year tenure. It's even more rare to celebrate the tenure of one so revered and beloved -- and in many ways unknown -- as Gustav Meier.

This year, the Greater Bridgeport Symphony honors our Music Director Gustav Meier for 40 years leading our orchestra. Probably for many who have known the orchestra, it seems like yesterday that Gustav took the reins from Jose Iturbi. And possibly for many in our community, there is little awareness of the stature...
