Ticket holders for the GBS concert are invited to these 30-minute preconcert lectures designed to provide background on the composers and works being performed.
The auditorium doors open at 7:00 PM for the lecture. Sit in any seat. You can move to your assigned seats after 7:30 PM for the evening's concert.
Presenting our lectures are two distinquished GBS Board members, Jeffrey Johnson, a Professor of Music at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut and an active journalist and writer, and Dr. Orin Grossman, Professor Emertus Professor of Visual and Performing Arts at Fairfield University and active interpreter and piano recitalist presenting the music of George Gershwin, playing his songs and classical compositions around the globe.
Mr. Johnson will be the guest lecturer for the September and March concerts. Dr. Grossman will present the October, November and April concerts.
