GBS returns to The Klein on October 16, after the long dark night of the pandemic.  We've used the time away from live concerts to learn and grow, and GBS is ready for an exciting new future.  We'll be presenting both live and recorded concerts, and expanding our reach to young and old alike.

For 75 years - since October 1946 - GBS has provided Bridgeport and the region with the finest in orchestral music. Maestro Eric Jacobsen continues to stretch the impressive talents of our musicians with heroic, large scale programming. GBS has recently hosted such worldwide luminaries as Gil Shaham, Colin Jacobsen, Mira Wang, Simone Porter (violinits), Alex Beyer, Andrew Armstrong, Tiffany Poon and the incomparable Yuja Wang (pianists).

We Hope To See You At The Klein

All concerts in the 2021-22 season (except March) will take place at 8 PM at the historic, Art-Deco Klein Memorial Auditorium located at 910 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport. Our home for almost our entire history, the Klein is conveniently located near all major routes, has plush, comfortable seating and wonderful acoustics. Symphony patrons are offered free, attended parking at the municipal parking facility located directly across the street from the hall. An informative pre-concert talk is presented in the auditorium prior to each performance at 7 PM. For more information, visit www.theklein.org

GBS Is About More Than Concerts

GBS is also a major presence in the educational community of our region. We have touched the lives of local area students by bringing great music into the Bridgeport public schools and mentoring some of the region’s most talented young musicians.

Musicians To Go can provide the perfect musical enhancement for your next special event.  Please email or call our office for details.
